Social value delivered by design, not as an add-on

For many organisations, social value is now central to procurement, contract delivery, ESG reporting and long-term workforce planning.

Matrix helps clients turn those expectations into practical workforce outcomes. Our social value infrastructure brings together our dedicated team, supplier ecosystem, specialist partners and workforce technology to support local skills, employment and community impact.

By building social value into delivery, we help clients evidence measurable outcomes while supporting more inclusive, sustainable and community-focused workforce strategies.

Our dedicated Social Value Team

Matrix has a dedicated Social Value Team focused on turning commitment into practical action. The team works across Matrix, our clients, suppliers and community partners to deliver employability initiatives, volunteering activity, partnerships and measurable social impact.

Measuring impact with clarity and accountability

Social value has to be more than good intent. Matrix tracks and reports on activity so clients can understand what has been delivered, where impact has been created and how outcomes support procurement, audit and ESG requirements.

Our approach helps clients evidence progress against agreed local delivery targets, including skills and employment activity, inclusive access to work, employability support, volunteering, community partnerships, supplier diversity and local economic impact.

Matrix also uses EcoVadis to support ESG accountability across our operations. In 2026, Matrix achieved a committed EcoVadis rating, supported by progress across environmental, social and governance activity, including reduced emissions intensity, colleague volunteering and updated governance policies.

Partnerships that make meaningful impact scalable

Social value is strongest when it is built through collaboration.

Matrix works with clients, suppliers, charities, employability partners and community organisations to reach people who are often overlooked by traditional workforce routes.

Through partnerships with organisations such as The Careers and Enterprise Company, YMCA and imployable, we give people from across our client communities the tools they need to access good quality work opportunities.

What some of our partners say

“Thank you for delivering this very useful and beneficial workshop to the apprentices.  Even in a challenging time you were able to adapt and bring some positivity over the misery we face.

I have to say that I learnt a lot and have taken a lot of your advice and suggestions on board. It is clear from your presenting that you have expertise in the field and as a result have instilled confidence in the apprentices as you clearly know the industry well.”

“Your organisation was one of our most active employer partners in the academic year 2024/25, delivering or attending over 10 events and consistently supporting local students to gain career insights, build confidence and strengthen their employability skills.

Thanks to your generosity of time and expertise, we were able to broker and facilitate more than 10,000 student experiences, a 55% increase on the previous year. Through careers insight talks, taster workshops, work experience or employability sessions, your contribution has been instrumental in inspiring the next generation of Islington’s workforce.

You’ve helped young people, many from underrepresented backgrounds, gain insight into future career pathways and build the essential skills they need to thrive in life and work.”
