A Basic Criminality Check is a type of background check conducted by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) in England and Wales, or by Disclosure Scotland (DS) in Scotland. It provides information about an individual’s unspent criminal convictions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
