The client

Anchor provide later life living in 54,000 homes across almost 1,700 sites, including more than 120 care homes, serving over 65,000 residents. With some vulnerable residents, staff must be carefully selected for their personal qualities as well as their training and formal qualifications.

Since 2021, we’ve partnered with Anchor to provide a Neutral Vendor model, enhancing workforce fulfilment and streamlining the provision of temporary agency staff across a wide range of job categories in their care homes. Our focus was to address fulfilment challenges while ensuring compliance and quality of staff, all while maintaining high levels of care.

The challenge

Anchor faced significant challenges in hiring temporary agency staff, particularly in the social care sector. Struggling to fill critical roles, key positions were left vacant and impacting on operations and service delivery.

Ensuring compliance presented another major hurdle, as candidates often did not meet the strict pre-employment standards required in the sector. Additionally, there were concerns about the quality and suitability of workers submitted for roles, which created inefficiencies and disruptions.

These issues collectively hindered Anchor’s ability to maintain seamless care services and manage their workforce effectively.

Our solution

Working with Anchor, we focused on enhancing workforce fulfilment by tailoring supply chains with suppliers we know are capable of providing high-quality staff across the social care sector.

Using our extensive experience in the care sector, we implemented a solution to address Anchor’s specific needs:

  • Customized Supply Chains: Collaborated with trusted suppliers capable of delivering high-quality staff across the social care sector
  • Stringent Pre-Employment Checks: Ensured all candidates were thoroughly vetted, with compliance checks completed before placements began
  • Real-Time Insights: Delivered a robust management information system, providing visibility and control over their temporary workforce

The results

  • Bespoke solution to address supply chain challenges and pre-employment checks
  • Improvements to fulfilment rates: 93.1%
  • Total savings: £500,000+

The outcome

Our solution has been central to enhancing workforce fulfilment for Anchor, enabling them to meet their fulfilment requirements across all job categories while better monitoring their temporary agency staff. By providing Anchor with pre-vetted candidates, we ensured that compliance was dealt with effectively, and that only the highest-quality and appropriate candidates were submitted – supporting a more reliable, fulfilled workforce across their care homes.

Our partnership delivered measurable outcomes:
